Today, I made some progress and ordered some packaging and shipping supplies. After all, shipping anything bare bones is fine but who wouldn't rather receive a beautifully packaged work of art that truly feels like a luxurious present, even if it's for yourself?
It took me some time deciding how to package my work, plus different items and sized need different packaging. I researched online for some truly inspiring packaging ideas. Some of the things that kept grabbing my attention where natural items like burlap and hemp cords in earthy colors. So, here is what I ordered so far:
I decided to go with a white glossy wrapping paper. Originally I thought of Kraft brown paper but since some of the other component will be brown or beige I was afraid it will look too bland with not enough contrast. Plus I think glossy will look more sophisticated. Plain matte paper reminds me of what restaurants use to cover tables.
I really like this burlap ribbon and think it might serve multiple functions for packaging, such as background for pins or pocket mirrors. It's 2 in wide, which is perfect, not too thin and not too wide. I really excited to test it out.
This is another item that I thought could be used in multiple ways. The olive green is pretty accent of color among the beige and white, but still remains in the earthy pallete.
My card and thank you card will be on a recycled brown French Paper.
